Meet the Founder

Ms. Jewel C. Martin, M.Ed.

My journey in education began over 15 years ago as a tutor for a group of homeschooled students. This is where I discovered my passion for helping children unlock their potential. Working one-on-one with them ignited my belief that every child can learn and thrive with the right resources and support. After several years of tutoring other children, I decided to tutor my own by homeschooling my sons for six years. During this time, I continued to work as a tutor part-time, tailoring educational experiences to my client’s unique needs and interests. This journey not only strengthened my belief in the individual capabilities of my students but also equipped me with valuable insight into effective teaching strategies.

Eventually, I began tutoring adults as well. I discovered that children and adults can share the same negative belief in their personal education journey: they aren’t intelligent enough to learn or master new skills. I work diligently with my adolescent and adult students to change the narrative they often replay mentally about learning.

In 2020 I earned my graduate degree in Education specializing in Adult Learning and Workforce Education. The same year I began my career working in the classroom as an Instructional Assistant and was promoted in 2021 as a teacher. My teaching philosophy centers on creating an inclusive, engaging environment where every student, regardless of age feels valued and empowered. I am committed to utilizing innovative strategies and hands-on learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles.

I believe in the importance of building strong relationships with my students, their families, and the broader school community. My goal is to inspire my students to embrace challenges, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a lifelong passion for learning. I am excited about the opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives and help them navigate their educational journeys.
